A KCPE candidate in Elgeyo Marakwet County made an unexpected turn of events on Tuesday afternoon when she gave birth after developing labour pains while sitting her mathematics paper.
According to Marakwet East sub-county Director of Education Kimutai Chrichir, the student was rushed to the neighbouring Kapyego health centre where she continued with her tests before delivering her baby late in the afternoon.
Mr Chirchir stated that the student had already written her English composition test before giving birth.
"We made arrangements to ensure she sits all her papers and took her to the nearby health centre," Mr Chirchir said.
The education official added that the candidate will sit her remaining tests at the health facility and wished her well.
