On October 29, 2019, a shocking incident occurred during a match in Germany, where a referee was airlifted to hospital after being punched by a player he had sent off.

The player, 28 years old, was shown a red card in the 85th minute of the game between FSV Munster and TV Semd in the C-League Dieburg, which his team lost 2-0.

According to reports, the player became unruly after receiving the red card and threw a punch at the referee, leaving him unconscious.

The referee was taken to a medical facility for further tests, and the player's actions are set to have a ripple effect on his career and his club.

Chairman Hans-Peter Samoschkoff revealed that both the club and the player would be deregistered as a result of the incident, stating, "The players will meet again, take their personal belongings - that's it. He can apologise in court, but here the time for him is over."
