Comedian and presenter Felix Odiwuor, known to many as Jalang'o, embarked on an unconventional path when he celebrated his Taita wife in a traditional wedding ceremony on October 26, 2019. The ceremony was a unique blend of cultures, with Jalang'o embracing Nigerian traditions.

On Instagram, Jalang'o shared pictures of the special moment, showcasing his performance of a Nigerian ritual on his wife. The act was a significant departure from traditional Kenyan wedding customs.

As part of the Nigerian ritual, Jalang'o showered his wife with Ksh1,000 new notes, a gesture that symbolized the couple's hopes for good fortune. This practice, known as the 'money dance,' is a popular tradition in Nigeria during wedding ceremonies.

During the ceremony, male guests typically pay to dance with the bride, while female guests may also pay to dance with the groom. The act of splashing cash on the couple is a way to wish them well and provide them with a little extra cash for their honeymoon or to help them set up their new home.

According to Hudsonvalleyweddings, some guests are informed that the money they pay will be used for the bride and groom's honeymoon or to give them a little extra cash to start their new life together.

As Jalang'o's wedding ceremony demonstrated, blending cultures can lead to a truly unique and memorable celebration.
