On October 29, 2019, a mother's plea to a Nyahururu court left many stunned. Teresiah Wanjira, a mother of a stubborn son, begged the magistrate to lock up her son, Paul Gitau, citing his abusive and irresponsible behavior.
Ms. Wanjira claimed that her son had been involved in other crimes and that she had forgiven him in the past, hoping he would change. However, she lamented that her son seemed not to be ready to change any time soon, and this had become a trend she could no longer tolerate.
Paul Gitau had admitted to charges of breaking into his mother's house and stealing two chickens and KSh 1,000. The case will be mentioned on November 6, 2019, when the prosecution will present more facts and exhibits to the case.
