Jubilee Politician Appointed to Kenya Cultural Centre Board

On October 16, 2019, Cabinet Secretary for Sports Amina Mohammed appointed William Wahome Kabera and Muthoni Garland to the board of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council.

According to a gazette notice, the appointment was made under the powers conferred by section 3 (1) of the Kenya Cultural Centre Act.

William Wahome Kabera, who came fourth in the 2017 Jubilee Party senatorial nominations, joins the board tasked with the development and promotion of Kenya's cultural performances and the incorporation of the Kenya National Theatre.

The Kenya Cultural Centre Council promotes the performance of music, drama, and dance, as well as the exhibition of Kenya's cultural works.

Before his appointment, Kabera served as the manager of Coca Cola (Nairobi Bottlers) for 20 years and holds a bachelor's degree in food science engineering.

He has also served as a board member at the dairy processor New KCC for three years.
