On October 29, 2019, chaos erupted at Nairobi City Hall as members of the Nairobi County Assembly engaged in a physical fight.

The fight was between two factions, one allied to House Speaker Beatrice Elachi and the other to Majority Leader Abdi Guyo.

Earlier, the Elachi faction had vowed to vote to dethrone Guyo, daring the rival faction to bring an impeachment motion against the Speaker if they had the numbers.

However, the Guyo-led faction had announced that the impeachment motion was on, leading to the physical confrontation.

The chaos broke out after the Elachi faction stormed the Guyo faction's press conference, hurling objects at them and physically dragging them out of the area.
