On October 29, 2019, Kenyan Premier League side Wazito FC announced the departure of assistant coach Hamisi Mohammed, who had been with the team for barely a week.
Hamisi's exit comes just days after the team appointed Melis Medo as its new head coach, replacing the sacked duo of Stanley Okumbi and Fred Ambani.
Team chairperson Solomon Alubala confirmed the development, stating that Hamisi had willingly stepped aside and that the club was now assessing the situation.
"He willingly stepped aside and we are now having a discussion with the head coach in regards to the next assistant coach. Everything is in order at the club and we are not panicking. The bad run will soon come to an end," Alubala said.
Meanwhile, the club has also parted ways with goalkeeper trainer Elias Otieno and appointed Stephen Balozi in his place, who was previously serving in the same capacity at National Super League side Talanta.
Wazito currently sits 13th on the log with seven points after seven matches and will next face struggling Sony Sugar at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.
