On October 29, 2019, a shocking incident occurred at the Bomet County Commissioner's office, where a headteacher, David Ngerich from Sonokwek Primary School, was arrested for being visibly drunk while attempting to collect KCPE examination papers.

Mr. Ngerich, who was staggering, demanded to be served first, causing a stir among government officials, security personnel, and fellow teachers who had gathered to collect the exam papers.

Bomet County Commander Naomi Ichami intervened, ordering his immediate arrest and directing his replacement as the center manager.
