On Tuesday morning, Interior CS Fred Matiang'i showed a softer side as he led prayers for KCPE candidates during a visit to NYS Primary School in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
As he supervised the administration of KCPE exams, which started on the same day, Matiang'i called an assembly and proceeded to lead a word of prayer.
“Our father and our God who is in heaven, we come before your presence. We thank you for the gift of these children…As their study for their exams, we pray and commit them into your loving hands,” the CS prayed.
Interestingly, this act of kindness came shortly after Matiang'i had taken disciplinary action against the school headteacher, following the discovery of leaking roofs in some of the classrooms where KCPE candidates were sitting their exams.
The CS ordered the evacuation of the students to a more convenient environment and directed the county education bosses to rectify the situation immediately.
