‘I Warned Raila Not to Join Sinking Jubilee Regime, I Warned You Against Voting Uhuru,’ David Ndii Gloats to Suffering Kenyans ¶
As Kenyans struggle with the economic downturn, economist and former NASA coalition strategist David Ndii has taken to Twitter to express his frustration with the Jubilee Government.
With the World Bank revising its growth estimate for Kenya in 2019 to 5.7 percent from a 6 percent provisional growth in gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018, Kenyans are feeling the pinch of rising food prices and fuel costs.
Majority of Kenyans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations over the job cuts and high cost of living, with some blaming the Jubilee Government for neglecting them and not fulfilling their promises of job creation.
David Ndii, who has been a vocal critic of the Jubilee Government, has been at the receiving end of criticism from some Kenyans who feel he should be doing more to help the country.
However, Ndii has been blunt in his response, telling Kenyans that he warned them about the impending economic crisis but they did not listen.
‘I said we are over borrowing, you said no pain no gain. I said SGR is not value for money, you said I’m anti-development. I said we prioritize agric productivity, you said stadiums. Now you turn around and demand I give solutions. Sasa. mnataka. nifanye. nini?’ Ndii tweeted on October 28, 2019.
He also reminded Kenyans that he had warned Raila Odinga against joining the Jubilee Government, but he disagreed.
‘You aren’t hearing me. You did’nt listen when turn around was possible. We passed tipping about a year ago. Now its either Ethiopia (regime change) or Sudan (revolution) scenario. I advised Raila not to jump into sinking ship, he disagreed. Choices. Consequences,’ Ndii tweeted on October 29, 2019.
