Kenya: IEBC Relocates Polling Stations Ahead of Kibra By-Election

Published on October 29, 2019, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has concluded the revision of Kibra constituency's voters' register, confirming 118,658 electors have been listed on the roll.

As part of the revision, the poll agency announced the relocation of 26,788 voters registered in the 36 polling stations ahead of the November 7 By-election.

According to a Special Gazette Notice released by Chairperson Wafula Chebukati, the relocated polling centres include Old Kibera Primary School, Ayany Primary School Playing Field, and Golf Course Playing Grounds.

Chebukati announced that Raila Education Centre will host 2,959 registered voters from Old Kibera Primary School, 1,980 registered voters from 3 polling stations in the Kilimanjaro Avenue off Mara Road, and KUSCO Centre polling centre will now cast their vote at Upperhill School.

Additionally, 4,387 registered voters from Kenyatta Market Parking Lot have been moved to Mbagathi Road Primary, while 3,549 voters from Golf Course Playing Grounds have been relocated to Shadrack Kimalel Primary.

The relocated voters from Ayany Primary School Playing Field (7,896 registered voters) and Ayany Primary School Playing Field (6,017 registered voters) will now cast their votes at Olympic Primary School and Olympic Secondary School, respectively.
