Former President Daniel arap Moi's health has been a subject of concern in recent weeks, with the latest reports indicating a significant deterioration in his condition.
According to a report in the Star Newspaper, dated October 29, 2019, Moi was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital on Monday for the second time in two weeks, and is currently admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
Although his family claims he is undergoing a routine check-up, reports from the hospital indicate that his health has taken a turn for the worse. Moi is reportedly on life support after complaining of breathing difficulties.
However, a family source who wished to remain anonymous stated that Moi was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after developing breathing complications, and underwent a procedure, only to be removed from life support on Sunday.
Press Secretary, Lee Njiru, downplayed the seriousness of Moi's health condition, stating that the former president was at the hospital for a routine medical check-up, and that it is advisable for everyone to undergo regular medical check-ups.
The ex-president has been experiencing a streak of ill health, with previous reports indicating that he suffered from memory loss months ago.
