Francis Atwoli Accused of Politicking in Kibra By-Election ¶
Former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi has called out Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli for interfering in the Kibra by-election.
Mudavadi, who is supporting ANC candidate Eliud Owalo, accused Atwoli of politicking while workers continue to suffer under oppressive regimes.
Atwoli had earlier claimed that ODM candidate Imran Okoth was destined to win the Kibra election by 10am on November 7.
However, Mudavadi pleaded with Kibra residents to vote for Owalo, saying it would be a way to shame the likes of Deputy President William Ruto, Raila Odinga, and Atwoli.
On Sunday, October 27, Mudavadi's convoy was stoned in Kibra as he led campaigns for Owalo.
"They have heard that Owalo is working hand-in-hand with Mudavadi and it is evident they have developed cold feet. This time around we have, Ruto, Raila, Musalia and Wetang'ula. My humble request is that you help me bring these people down by voting Owalo MP," Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi has since asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to take stern action against perpetrators of the violence meted against him and his entourage.
Earlier, Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga was also on the receiving end after his convoy was attacked and campaign material destroyed.
