On October 12, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by a boda boda operator in Nembure, Embu West sub-county. The suspect, Lincoln Mukundi, was charged before Embu Resident Magistrate Jean Ndengeri on October 12, 2019.
Mukundi denied the allegations and requested to be released on bond, as well as to be supplied with the charge sheet, witness statements, and other documents the State intended to use against him. The magistrate granted his request, ordering Mukundi to be released on a Sh500,000 bond with a similar surety amount.
However, Mukundi was unable to raise the bond immediately and was subsequently escorted to Embu G.K Remand Prison. The case is set to continue on November 6, 2019.
