October 28, 2019 - In a bid to connect with the local community, Odibets has shifted its focus to grassroots football clubs, a move that has seen the firm sponsor over 35,000 kits in the past year.

The kits initiative is a grassroots movement aimed at associating with ordinary football teams across the country, according to Odibets' marketing manager Aggrey Sayi.

“We want to be associated with “ordinary” brands in the grassroots although we cannot rule out partnerships with bigger teams,” Sayi said.

As part of its efforts to promote local football talent, Odibets has also been involved in soccer tournaments where top European football agents scout for local football talents.

With the betting industry experiencing intense competition, Odibets has had to adopt new measures to retain and attract more gamblers, including implementing new laws on the withholding of customer winnings at the rate of 20 percent to abide by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) tax requirements.
