On October 27, 2019, Southampton suffered their worst home defeat in 133 years, losing 9-0 to Leicester City at St Mary's.
Leicester's Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy each scored hat-tricks in the thrashing, which left Southampton with their worst home record in over a century.
"The squad has been working on putting things right for the club's supporters," Southampton said in a statement.
As part of their efforts to make amends, the players and coaching staff have decided to donate their wages from the day of the Leicester game to Saints Foundation, a charity that conducts vital work in the community.
Southampton's Austrian manager Ralph Hasenhuettl acknowledged that his team would struggle to stay in the Premier League unless they improved their performance.
"We must know that when we play like this, we have no chance to stay in this league, that is for sure," he said.
