On October 27, 2019, Top Fry Nakuru head coach Felix Oloo expressed his determination to maintain their Kenya Cup core status despite a disappointing loss to Menengai Oilers in their opening match.
Speaking to Nyakundi Report, Oloo stated that their primary goal is to continue competing in the top division and that they will take each game at a time, considering the challenges they have faced within the team.
‘We want to continue playing in the Kenya Cup and having a young squad, we will take each game at a time, having in mind there has been hiccups within the team,’ he explained.
Top Fry, also known as the ‘Wanyore’, were outshone 31-5 by Menengai Oilers at the ASK Showground in Nakuru. Oloo believes that his young side will improve as the league continues.
‘This one is done and dusted so we need to regroup in the next session and prepare for the next game,’ he added.
Menengai Oilers tactician Gibson Weru is expecting a tough encounter this weekend in Kakamega when his charges lock horns with newly promoted Western Bulls.
‘That will be tough because you don’t know what they will bring in the table since they’ve not been in the top flight, so the bad thing about such fixtures is that you never know what to expect from them therefore we’ll just prepare well and make sure we’re ready for whatever they bring to us,’ alleged Weru.
