On Monday, a Silverstone Air Dash 8-300 flight from Lodwar to Nairobi encountered a critical issue during takeoff, resulting in the loss of the number 3 wheel assembly.

As a precautionary measure, the captain decided to divert the flight to Eldoret International Airport, prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew.

According to Silverstone Air, the aircraft landed safely, and the airline has since rebooked affected customers, ensuring their safe arrival in Nairobi.

It's worth noting that this incident occurred just two weeks after a similar incident involving the same aircraft, a Fokker 50 (5Y-IZO), which crash-landed at Wilson Airport with 55 people on board, resulting in minor injuries to two passengers.
