Safaricom's New No-Expiry Date Bundles in Kenya

Published on October 28, 2019

Safaricom, a leading telecommunications company in Kenya, has introduced a new range of no-expiry date bundles for its customers. This move aims to provide customers with more flexibility and value for their money.

Under the old data plan, customers had to exhaust their bundles within a specific period, or they would expire. However, with Safaricom's new no-expiry date bundles, customers can use their data and voice packages without worrying about expiration dates.

The new bundles offer a range of benefits, including more data for less money. For instance, a KSh 5 bundle under the old plan would get customers 7MBs, which would expire in 24 hours. In contrast, the same KSh 5 bundle under the new plan would get customers 10MBs with no expiry date.

Additionally, Safaricom customers on the 'no-expiry bundle' plan can spend anything from one bob to KSh 999,999. The company has also introduced a 50% bonus airtime with every purchase, which is a lifetime offer.

According to Safaricom's interim CEO Michael Joseph, the move to scrap expiry dates was in response to customer demand. Joseph stated that the company wants to be simple, transparent, and honest in its operations.

For customers who are not ready to shift to the new data plan with no expiry date, the old menu is still available with the previous data packages.

To access the new no-expiry date bundles, customers can dial 544# on their mobile phone and follow the prompts. The new bundles are available to prepaid, postpaid, and hybrid customers.
