On Saturday night, Kisumu's Simba Union Club hosted the lavish Guinness Smooth launch party, where Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones performed alongside other artists.

As part of the festivities, a group of 50 influencers and top entertainment writers were flown in from Nairobi by a Guinness-branded plane, where they were welcomed by Sarakasi dancers and later boarded a Guinness-branded bus to the Grand Royal Hotel.

During his performance, Khaligraph Jones took a break to mingle with his fans, but a sneaky fan took advantage of the moment to snatch his glittering silver chain, valued at Sh60,000.

“Wameenda mpaka na chain, but ni sawa sisi tunapeana kila kitu. Kisumu nawapenda bado juu hata hii show niliambia organizers nitapiga free. So mjue hivyo ndio nawapenda,” Khaligraph said after getting back to stage.

Despite the loss, Khaligraph Jones continued to entertain the crowd, saying, “Hiyo chain wameenda nayo ilikuwa ya 60K but hizo ni vitu ndogo mimi nilikuja kuua show,” in an interview with Nairobi News after the performance.

The new Guinness Smooth variant, with an alcohol percentage of 4.5%, was also showcased at the event, with a retail price of Sh160 per 500ml bottle.

Comedians Otoyo and Jalang'o, who had tied the knot earlier in the day, hosted the show, which was organized by Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL).
