On October 27, 2019, Crystal Palace came back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 with Arsenal in a Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium.

The match saw several VAR interventions, including a disallowed goal for Arsenal in the 90th minute. Sokratis Papastathopoulos scored from a corner kick, but the goal was overruled due to a foul committed by Calum Chambers in the buildup.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery expressed his disappointment with the VAR decision, stating, "I didn't understand the referee and VAR reaction. For me, there is no confusion, it's not a good decision. We deserved to win, we had a good reaction after they equalised, we scored but then they didn't count it."

Palace boss Roy Hodgson praised the VAR decision, saying, "I'm glad for Martin because if, in the pre-VAR days, that hadn't been given, then... everyone would have said that was a clear penalty. I thought it was clear and I'm pleased it got overturned."

The result leaves Arsenal in fifth place with just two wins in their last seven games, while Palace are a point behind in sixth.
