On June 23, 2018, the National Boxing League showcased a thrilling match between Martin Maina of Thika and Lemid Thiongo of Nakuru at Madison Square Garden in Nakuru.

Fast forward to the fourth leg of the league, held at Nanyuki Social Hall, where defending champions Kenya Police demonstrated their prowess, accumulating a total of 24 points to emerge victorious.

The policemen's impressive performance has poised them to retain the title in the final leg, scheduled to take place in Kisumu from November 21-23.

Kenya Police's success can be attributed to their four boxers who made it to the finals, with three of them emerging victorious in their respective bouts.

Among the winners were light flyweight Martin Maina, bantamweight Martin Oduor, and middleweight George Cosby.

Kenya Police's dominance was reflected in the standings, with Kibra Boxing Club finishing runner-up with 15 points and Kenya Defence Forces securing 13 points to finish within the medal bracket.

Other counties that participated in the league included Kisumu, Laikipia, and Nairobi, which tied in fourth with three points each.

Former champions Kenya Prisons and Nakuru Boxing Club did not participate in the championships.

Thika finished seventh, while Dallas Muthurwa, Meru, Kenyatta National Hospital, Busia, Vihiga, and Mombasa counties each secured one point.

Siaya and Trans Nzoia counties, however, finished at the bottom of the table with no points in the three-day tournament.
