On a Sunday afternoon at Stima Club, Thika Queens staged a remarkable comeback to outsmart Spedag 2-1 in a Kenya Women Premier League match.

Spedag had taken an early lead through Mercy Awuor in the 27th minute, but Thika Queens' Mwanahalima Adam drew level just four minutes later.

Adam sealed the win for Thika Queens in the 62nd minute, calmly slotting the ball past Spedag's Carolyne Anyango and Mercy Akumu.

Thika Queens' assistant coach Sunil Shah attributed the team's casual approach to their overconfidence, saying, "I was really hoping for more goals today but the girls were overconfident which made them struggle against a team we knew we would definitely beat."

Spedag's coach, Patrick Maloba, expressed his team's frustration with their underwhelming season, citing a lack of focus and inadequate training as contributing factors.

"We have suffered a lot this season because the girls' focus has been off almost the entire season. We have lost a lot of matches because we only train a day to the game. Today, we didn’t utilize our chances because we were too slow and our passing was also not good gifting our opponents possession," Maloba said.
