Gor Mahia's quest for a continental title hit a snag as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Motema Pembe in a thrilling CAF Confederation Cup clash at Kasarani Stadium on October 27, 2019.

DR Congo's Motema Pembe staged a dramatic comeback to force Gor Mahia to a 1-1 draw in the match.

Steven Polack named a strong side to face the Congolese club, with David Mapigano starting between the sticks.

However, Gor still could not find the back of the net through the first half despite having a couple of goalscoring chances.

The second half of the match saw both sides play aggressively, with Gnamien Yikpe breaking the deadlock minutes into the half.

The visitors would however draw level minutes later through William Luenzi.

The chase for a winner saw K'Ogalo concede a penalty in the dying minutes of the match after Charles Momanyi handling the ball in the dangerous area.

Motema Pembe went on to fluff the golden chance of burying the game, with Gor shot-stopper David Mapigano emerging match hero after saving the penalty.
