On October 27, 2019, a senseless murder shook the quiet town of Katani in Machakos County. A businesswoman and her mother were shot dead outside their home in a brutal attack.
According to Athi River sub-county police boss Samuel Mukuusi, the assailants waylaid the Mlolongo-based businesswoman outside the home as her mother was opening the gate for her.
The gangsters shot the mother first before turning the gun on the businesswoman and shooting her dead as well.
The woman's husband was also reportedly shot and injured during the ensuing fracas and is presently recuperating at the Shalom Community Hospital.
Bodies of the deceased have since also been moved to the same hospital's mortuary, and no arrests have been made so far.
Confirming the incident, Mr. Mukuusi said the police are investigating the murder and are working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
