On October 27, 2019, Felicia Edem Attipoe made history as Ghana's first female aircraft marshaller, a feat she achieved despite numerous challenges in her life.

Attipoe's journey to becoming an aircraft marshaller began with a humble start, selling porridge at a train station to supplement her income as a secretary at the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

However, her dream was to become an aircraft marshaller, a traditionally male-dominated role. Undeterred by her three failed attempts at the written test, Attipoe convinced her boss of her capabilities and was soon added to the trainee list.

With determination and hard work, Attipoe passed the exam and went on to acquire certificates in Aerodrome Safety, Certificate in Marshalling, and Radio Telephony from the Aviation School.

Her perseverance paid off when she was recognised as the Most Inspiring Woman in Aviation at Ghana's Most Inspiring Women's Award.

Attipoe's story is a testament to the power of determination and hard work, and serves as an inspiration to women and girls everywhere.
