On October 27, 2019, a shocking incident occurred in Machakos County, where gunmen attacked a businesswoman's family, leaving two dead and one person seriously injured.
The assailants sprayed the businesswoman and her mother with bullets, killing them instantly, while her husband sustained serious gunshot injuries during the fracas.
He was rushed to Shalom Community Hospital in Machakos County, where he received medical attention.
Athi River sub-county police boss Samuel Mukuusi confirmed the incident, stating that the armed gunmen waylaid the businesswoman outside her gate and struck as her mother was opening the gate for her.
According to the police boss, the assailants first shot the mother before turning the gun on the businesswoman outside her home in Katani.
The bodies of the deceased have been moved to Shalom community hospital morgue.
Police have launched investigations into the incident with no arrest made so far.
