On October 27, 2019, Machakos Golf Club hosted a series of golf tournaments, attracting players from across the region.
One of the standout events was the Captain's Prize, which saw Ibrahim Lande emerge as the overall winner with an impressive score of 40 points.
Lande's victory came after a closely contested competition, with Collins Kaloki and David Mwangangi finishing in second and third place, respectively.
James Ndunda, playing off a handicap of five, finished in fourth place with a score of 36, while Fred Muteti took fifth place with 35 points.
Meanwhile, in the ladies category, Nancy Kariuki carded 35 points to take the first prize, ahead of Jennifer Mangu on 28 points.
Other notable winners included K.Kirubi, who emerged as the best guest with a score of 34 points, and Paul Muigai, who took third place in the men's category with 31 points.
Throughout the tournament, several prizes were awarded, including the longest drive contest, which was won by Nancy Kariuki and Julius Kioko, and the nearest to pin prize, which was won by David Kimanthi.
At Thika Sports Club, Anthony Kabucho posted 38 points to win the Tourism Fund golf tournament, while Naomi Kimata claimed the ladies first prize with 37 points at the same event.
Other golf tournaments took place at Limuru Country Club, Karen Country Club, Nyali, Sigona Golf Club, and Ruiru, with various winners emerging in each category.
