On Sunday morning, a devastating head-on collision occurred on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, claiming the lives of four people.
According to Makueni County Police Commander Ole Napeiyan, the accident happened when a driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided with it head-on.
The driver and passenger of the car that attempted to overtake died instantly, while two others, including the driver of the second car, succumbed to their injuries while being transported to a nearby hospital.
Mr. Napeiyan attributed the accident to human error, stating that it was not caused by mechanical failure, weather conditions, or road conditions.
The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the Kilome Nursing Home mortuary.
