On Saturday, October 26, dock workers at the Standard Gauge Railway depot in Nairobi were going about their daily duties when they heard someone banging from inside one of the empty containers.
When the container was opened, the man inside looked confused and could not explain how he got in.
According to a report by NTV, the man claimed to be a driver who may have gotten drunk before getting into the container.
He was taken into police custody to aid with further investigations into the incident.
The container had been transported from Nairobi inland container depot and was meant to be transported to Mombasa via SGR.
"I am a driver and was waiting for my lorry to offload, I don't know what happened and I can't even tell how I got into the container," he said.
