On October 27, 2019, ODM leader Raila Odinga sparked controversy when he claimed that some leaders were opposing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report without knowing its contents.
According to Odinga, the report had not yet been submitted, and he urged leaders to wait for its release before taking a stance.
Former presidential candidate Prof James Ole Kiyiapi took to social media to support Odinga's sentiments, urging leaders to wait for the report to be made public before discrediting it based on rumors.
However, Miguna Miguna was not impressed with Kiyiapi's remarks, accusing him of being naive about the BBI report.
“Why has Raila Odinga been roaming around funerals campaigning for something that has not been published? Professor: Stop being naive. The contents of the BBI… are in the recently published book by Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o. Kenyans are not that stupid,” Miguna tweeted.
