On October 27, 2019, ODM leader Raila Odinga sparked debate when he stated that some leaders were opposing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report without knowing its contents.
Former presidential candidate Prof James Ole Kiyiapi supported Odinga's sentiments, urging leaders to wait for the report to be made public before discrediting it.
However, Miguna Miguna was not pleased with Kiyiapi's remarks, accusing him of being naive about the BBI report.
“Why has Raila Odinga been roaming around funerals campaigning for something that has not been published? Professor: Stop being naive. The contents of the BBI… are in the recently published book by Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o. Kenyans are not that stupid,” Miguna tweeted.
