Jose Mourinho's presence at Arsenal's Europa League game against Vitoria Guimaraes on October 24 has sparked speculation that he may be interested in replacing Unai Emery as the team's manager.
Emery's men staged a dramatic comeback 3-2 win, thanks to a stunning brace from Nicolas Pepe, but the reason behind Mourinho's attendance at the Emirates remains unclear.
However, some Arsenal fans believe that Mourinho's interest in the team could be a sign that he is considering taking over as the manager, especially given his recent managerial vacancy since his sacking at Manchester United in December 2018.
One fan posted on Twitter: "Mourinho was clearly at the Emirates for a reason. Why else would he waste his Thursday evening watching Europa League? He's already working out what he can do to turn this team into winners, I love it, my manager."
Another fan noted: "After years of abusing Jose Mourinho, imagine if he becomes the Arsenal manager."
Emery has been under pressure this season at Arsenal, with the team's chiefs reportedly giving him a target to meet this term. The Gunners have been registering a mixed run of results, with their 1-0 slim defeat to Sheffield United in their last league match denying them a chance to cement their top four place.
The side will be back in action on Sunday, October 27, when they are scheduled to take on Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium. A win over the Eagles will see Arsenal narrow their gap with fourth-placed Chelsea to just two points.
