On his reality show 'Bahati Reality', singer Bahati featured Denno, a VIP, and assured him that he would sign him to his record label EMB.
Denno expressed his difficulties in transportation, using matatus and cabs, and begged Bahati to sign him, stating,
"I just use the Matatu, and it’s difficult. When I choose to use a cab, its expensive. Sign me on EMB, I know we will work. I have the songs"
in a heartfelt plea.
Bahati gave Denno an assurance, saying,
"As long as I’m on the top, I’ll make sure Africa has heard about you, Denno. I can do more than signing you"
but will it be a promise he keeps?
Denno's situation raises questions about Bahati's record label, EMB, and its past experiences with signees. Weezdom, the first artiste signed by Bahati, had a misunderstanding with him but later reconciled. He had expressed frustration with the release of his songs.
Mr Seed and David Wonder, on the other hand, exited the label after falling out with Bahati. Mr Seed's wife, Nimo Gachuri, was even arrested by police at Bahati's event, while David Wonder's contract was extended to ten years, a decision he disagreed with.
Will Denno's experience be any different? Only time will tell.
