On October 26, 2019, Willy M Tuva, a renowned radio and television host, was crowned the winner of the Best African Presenter award at the Muzik Magazine Awards in Dallas, USA.
Known for his popular show Mambo Mseto, which airs on Citizen radio and television, Tuva outshone his competitors at the prestigious awards ceremony.
Other notable winners at the event included Tanzanian musician Ommy Dimpoz, who took home the award for Male Artist of the Year, beating out stiff competition from artists such as Diamond Platnumz, Ali Kiba, Nyashinski, Kaligraph Jones, and Ravvany.
Kenyan DJ Poison Ivy was also recognized as the Best DJ from East Africa, while Toofan, a Ghanaian music duo, won the award for Best Group, beating out Sauti Sol from Kenya.
Tuva's win marked a significant achievement in his illustrious career, which has spanned over a decade. He had previously won the AFRIMA award for Best Radio Presenter in 2012.
His show Mambo Mseto has been a staple on Kenyan airwaves for years, and his innovative approach to hosting has earned him a loyal following.
