Published on October 27, 2019, a Kenyan man identified as Ramadhan was badly injured in a scuffle at a hostel in Bahrain, where he was living and working with five other Kenyan men.
The five men, who were arrested by Bahrain authorities, had previously been involved in a notorious gang in Mombasa, Kenya, known as Temeke (TMK). The gang was blamed for a series of attacks on people in Mombasa, and the names and photos of its members were published on a wanted billboard by Kenyan police.
However, the five men 'reformed' and moved to Bahrain three months ago in search of better opportunities. They worked for a security company until last week's incident, which led to their arrest.
According to sources at the company, Security Solutions, the five men attacked Ramadhan with a blunt object, leaving him with serious injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The five men, identified as Mahseen Azwan (alias Dogo Presso), Jamil, Omar Mzee, Fadhili, and Abubakar, are being held ahead of deportation on Sunday.
A top official at the security company was recorded scolding a recruitment agent, Jamal, for sending 'gangsters' to work in Bahrain.
“Jamal, how can we not blame you? You are the one who selected these people and know their history. How can we say that you do not know?” he posed.
