On Friday night at Taifa Indoor gymnasium in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, the defending champions' hopes of retaining the 2019 FIBA Africa Zone Five Women Basketball Club championship were dashed by JKL Dolphines.
However, Kenya had reason to celebrate as former champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) secured a spot in the final.
JKL Dolphines, marking their third year since formation, defeated Equity Bank 62-53 in the semi-finals.
Interestingly, the bankers took an initial 17-11 lead in the first quarter before collapsing.
Meanwhile, KPA overpowered APR of Rwanda 62-46 in the other semi-final match.
