Published on October 26, 2019, the Kenya Handball Federation men's league has seen Administration Police struggle to find their footing. On Saturday, they suffered their fourth loss of the season, falling 37-27 to Rangers at the Kaloleni Grounds in Nairobi.
AP coach Barry Kaberia attributed their losses to the team's inexperience, saying, 'We try not to put too much pressure on ourselves because most of the players are still new to the game and we take every match as a lesson learnt.'
University of Eldoret (UOE) Pippers also faced Rangers, losing 33-22, but redeemed themselves in their second match, beating Warriors 23-17.
Rangers showcased balanced ball distribution, with Steven Chemutuny leading the team with seven goals and Blais Murakaya following closely with five goals. The victory marked Rangers' fourth win of the season, taking their tally to eight points.
UOE will have another chance to redeem themselves in their double header on Sunday against Kaluluini and Bucanners.
In other matches of the day, Thika recorded mixed results, winning 31-20 against National Youth Service but losing 21-44 against Ulinzi, ranked position nine in the standings.
National Youth Service, who finished bottom last year, are ranked position 22nd. Coach Dorcas Mbutsi acknowledged the team's improvements, saying, 'It was a tough game for us but we put in our best and we know we need to improve on our passes and ball handling, we have definitely made improvements in keeping our formation intact.'
Defending champions National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) won their seventh match, edging out Generation 32-19.
