Published on October 26, 2019, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise has been rescheduled due to protests over the change of recruitment centres.
The recruitment, initially set for October 28, was cancelled on October 16. The Defence ministry has announced that those who applied earlier must reapply.
According to Bogita Ongeri, the Deputy Director of Public Communications, recruitment of general service officers, cadets, specialist officers, tradesmen, and tradeswomen will be through applications to the Defence headquarters.
Enrollment of general duty recruits and defence forces constables will be done by KDF teams at sub-county level, with the dates to be announced in the newspapers at a later date.
Those shortlisted for the positions of GSOs, cadets, and specialist officers will be notified through the newspapers from November 16 to 20, while those who successfully apply for the positions of tradesmen and tradeswomen will be notified from December 23 to 29.
