On October 26, 2019, Machakos sub-county OCPD Moss Ndiwa and Machakos DCIO boss Rhoda Kanyi led a joint operation that resulted in the impounding of bhang worth Sh1.5 million and the confiscation of Sh80,000 at a homestead in Kasinga, Machakos County.
According to Ndiwa, the operation was prompted by a tip-off from members of the public. The police recovered 100 kilograms of bhang packed in four sacks, which was ready for sale.
“We have recovered the bhang and money which we suspect to be proceeds from the sale of bhang. We have arrested one suspect,” Ndiwa said.
The suspect is currently detained at the Machakos Police station and will be arraigned in court on Monday.
