Ezekiel Mutua Slams 10 Over 10 Show, Urges Kenyans to Boycott

Published on October 26, 2019

Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has expressed concern over the content of Citizen TV's 10 Over 10 show, hosted by Willis Raburu.

According to Mutua, the show contains filthy and immoral content, describing it as a night club on TV.

He noted that many Kenyans believe that KFCB should ban the program due to its immoral content, and he wishes he had the power under the law to ban the obscenity.

However, Mutua stated that his hands are tied when it comes to banning the show because it airs outside the watershed period of between 5am and 10pm.

He urged Kenyans to boycott the show so it would lose viewership and eventually be cancelled.

Mutua also advised parents to avoid abrogating their role as a parent or citizen to others, and to deny Citizen TV audience, particularly the Willis Raburu show, to make it go off the air.

He concluded by stating that the 10 over 10 show was a reflection of the rot in society, and that there is a problem of lack of moral values in Kenya, which is the main cause of all their challenges.

He called on media and the content it feeds children on to be a major catalyst to the immorality, and that KFCB is doing all it can to bring sanity, but needs the support of all Kenyans of goodwill to restore moral values in society.
