On Friday, October 25, 2019, Tanzanian singer Harmonize left Kenyan journalists stunned when he abruptly ended a press conference at the Blue Door VIP lounge.
Harmonize had scheduled a press conference for 11 am, which was later rescheduled to 7 pm. Despite the delay, journalists arrived in good numbers, only to be met with a brief three-minute Q&A session.
According to eyewitnesses, Harmonize answered two questions before demanding not to be asked about his record label, WCB. He then walked out of the room, ignoring a journalist who was still asking a question.
When asked about the 'one-on-one' interviews he had requested, Harmonize gave a firm 'no' as his bodyguards pushed the chairs to create a way for him to exit.
It was later revealed that Harmonize's excuse for leaving was that he was late for a TV show starting at 10 pm.
Kenyan media personalities took to social media to express their disappointment and frustration with Harmonize's behavior, with one blogger saying, 'What has Kenyan media ever done to this guy? This is not the first time he is acting like that.'
A TV presenter added, 'Huyu jamaa ako na madharau sana, hutawahi niona kwa event ama press conference yake tena.'
Hours later, Harmonize went to his anticipated TV show like nothing had happened.
