On Saturday, 13-year-old Emmanuel Solomon Inyama, son of University of Nairobi lecturer Ann Inyama, died under mysterious circumstances.
According to an autopsy report, Emmanuel died from excessive bleeding in the stomach, caused by malignant ulcers.
His body was discovered in the living room of his mother's house in South B estate, Nairobi, on Wednesday at 6pm.
caretaker Stephen Mwangi reported a foul smell emanating from the house, which was locked from the inside, prompting police to investigate.
When Mwangi peeped through the window, he saw Emmanuel's lifeless body, covered in a blanket, on the floor.
Ann Inyama was arrested and detained for 10 days at the Makadara Law court to assist in investigations.
She is currently being held at the Industrial Area police cell and is expected to undergo a psychiatric test on Monday, October 28, 2019.
