Published on October 26, 2019, Laikipia women representative Catherine Waruguru has issued a final notice to Nyandarua county civil servants to vacate Nyahururu town houses in favour of their Laikipia counterparts.
According to Waruguru, the eviction of Nyandarua county civil servants from the houses in Nyahururu is long overdue. She noted that Laikipia should consolidate all its properties back to the county, citing that it is their only business.
Waruguru accused the director for housing of engaging in insubordination by allowing the officers to continue staying in Nyahururu. She also claimed that the old Nyahururu county council houses are not adequate to accommodate the ballooning workforce in Nyahururu.
Waruguru is being bankrolled by some senior administrators in Nyahururu subcounty to push their Nyandarua North counterparts out of the posh offices and houses. The houses in question are managed by the ministry of housing and get a pay cut to cater for the house rent.
