Published on October 26, 2019, a postmortem examination revealed that Emmanuel Inyama, the son of University of Nairobi lecturer Hannah Inyama, died of stomach ulcers and obesity-related complications.

Contrary to his mother's initial report to the police that Emmanuel fell in the house and hurt himself, the autopsy findings showed that he did not have any physical injuries on his body.

According to Government Pathologist Peter Ndegwa, the autopsy done on Thursday evening revealed that Emmanuel could have been stressed, and was almost 100 kilogrammes.

‘He was unkempt. His hair was unshaven. He was not in a very good state and he was very obese. His ulcers could have been stress induced,’ Ndegwa said.

The postmortem findings also showed that Emmanuel's body was in a state of decomposition, with flies swarming around his body and a foul stench filling the room where he was discovered by the caretaker of Kifaru Front Apartments in South B.
