President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive has been blamed for the woes and frustrations the country's sports fraternity is facing, according to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) boss Nick Mwendwa.
Speaking during an interview at Citizen TV, Mwendwa narrated the frustrations that sportspeople in the country are going through despite the President's repeated assurance that everything is being sorted.
According to Mwendwa, President Kenyatta told him twice that he no longer wanted to hear that sportspeople lacked funds, assuring him that he had set aside a National Sports Fund to ensure such did not happen.
However, Mwendwa stated that despite the President's assurance, the body set up to take care of sports issues has been frustrating teams' attempts to get funds to organize matches and pay players.
The women's football team, Harambee Starlets, have been particularly affected, with Mwendwa claiming they have been neglected despite their fabulous performance.
