On October 26, 2019, the National Boxing League entered its second day at Nanyuki Social Hall, where Kenya Police's national heavyweight champion Elly Ajowi bowed out in the semi-finals in a split points decision.
Ajowi lost to Joshua Wasike of Kibra, who won the epic tussle 2-1, enhancing his chances of getting selected into a provisional squad expected to feature in the African Olympic qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal in January.
Wasike will face Peter Abuti of Kenya Defence Forces in the final, while Abuti had dispatched Armstrong Kirinya of Laikipia on unanimous points decision in another heavyweight semi-final match.
Other boxers who cruised into the finals include Boniface Mogunde of Kenya Police in the welterweight category, Wellington Busili of Kibra in the super heavyweight category, and Ishmael Asoka of KDF in the light heavyweight category.
