Published on October 25, 2019, an 84-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and raped in her home at Ngerwe Village in Embu.
According to her account, the attacker broke into her home and carried her onto a seat where he allegedly raped her, covering her mouth with a cloth to prevent her from screaming.
Family members discovered her in the morning with a swollen lip and bruises on the face, prompting them to report the matter at Kubugu Police Station.
She was issued with a P3 form to seek treatment at Embu Level Five hospital, where she is currently recuperating.
Residents have called on police to speed up investigations and bring the culprit to book.
