On October 25, 2019, the Sports Tribunal made a landmark ruling in favor of former Harambee Stars coach Bobby Williamson, awarding him Sh55 million for unfair dismissal.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa confirmed the development during an interview on Citizen TV, stating, 'We will appeal that ruling.'

Williamson, a Briton who previously coached Gor Mahia and Uganda Cranes, was summarily fired by Mwendwa just a week after he assumed office in 2016 and was replaced by Stanley Okumbi.

According to Williamson, he was told by Mwendwa and the Chief Executive (Robert Muthomi) not to respond to training, which he claimed was an unfair treatment.

Williamson's case has been ongoing since he rushed to court in protest, and this ruling marks a significant victory for him.

It's worth noting that another former Stars coach, Adel Amrouche, was recently awarded Sh108 million for unfair dismissal by the court of arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.
