On October 25, 2019, a Homa Bay court handed down a life sentence to Wilfred Ondieki Kibeti, a 40-year-old man who pleaded guilty to defiling a 10-year-old grade one pupil.
According to court records, Kibeti had carnal knowledge of the minor on multiple dates between October 19 and October 20, 2019, at Kodera South Location in Rachuonyo South Sub County.
The court found Kibeti guilty of defiling the minor and committing an indecent act by intentionally touching the minor's private body parts.
Magistrate Celesa Okore condemned Kibeti's actions, stating that the offense was serious and that medical reports confirmed the defilement.
Kibeti was given 14 days to appeal against the judgment.
